This year, the Cambridge Home + Garden Show will be offering a variety of workshops as a new feature for 2019. Get involved and try your hand at something new as you learn from our experts. There are two workshops on each day and a limited number of places on each. Here is the programme for you to take your pick:

Explore colour with husband and wife design team Philip and Keighley, a furniture maker and textile designer. Sharing their love of colour, you will find out about its history and psychology then have the chance to paint your very own colour wheel, creating a beautiful piece of art in itself to take home. Absolutely no experience needed for this fun and creative workshop, come and discover how relaxing working with paints and colour can be.

The Cambridge Fabric Company invite you to join them for this fun and popular workshop, ideal for beginners. No sewing involved and you will go home with a gorgeous lampshade that you have created yourself.
During the workshop you will learn how to create a professional 30cm drum, rolled edge lampshade, using the fabric of your choice. The workshop includes everything you need to make the lampshade – we will have a large selection to choose from on the day.

Mini Floral Tableau Workshop

This mini 45-minute workshop will teach you how to put together a collection of flowers and foliage, vintage containers and props to create a harmonious miniature tableau that’s perfect for a table centrepiece or any small space in your home that needs brightening up. Florist and floral stylist Bridget Davidson, owner of renowned, unique Cambridge floristry company, Wild Rosamund, will show you how it’s done. The workshop will begin with a talk on choosing visually interesting containers and props, followed by a demonstration on how to place your blooms and foliage to best effect. Then it’s your turn! You’ll choose from Wild Rosamund’s own collection of vintage and retro containers and use beautiful British-grown and foraged blooms and foliage to build up your own unique tableau that will look sensational in any home. Your tableau and containers are yours to take home. Price includes: small vintage containers and props, and all flower and foliage material.
